Since 1972, Lyndwood Nursery School has provided a complete, theme-based Preschool, Junior Kindergarten and Senior Kindergarten program for children aged 2 1/2 - 6 years. We are a not-for profit school with highly qualified, experienced staff. Our aim is to provide high quality education in a nurturing environment, preparing children for success.
* We provide a warm, nurturing environment where children can thrive.
* We provide structured learning, unstructured play time, creative opportunities, safe and sheltered outdoor play and healthy snacks daily.
* Small class sizes afford children plenty of individual attention.
* Special fun days, experiential learning and learning through play give children a positive first experience in school.
* We strive to help children develop self-confidence and independence.
Lyndwood Nursery School offers a complete, theme-based Preschool, Junior Kindergarten and Senior Kindergarten program.
Our Preschool program introduces children to a structured day with routines and a variety of activities and learning centres.
Our Kindergarten programs follow the same format with increased challenges each successive year. Our program includes a strong focus on the Jolly Phonics program. Although we are not required to do so, our program exceeds the Ontario guidelines for the Kindergarten years. Parents have told us that our program is superior, and that their children have entered grade one prepared and enthusiastic about school.
We firmly believe our high-quality programs and interactive teaching techniques fully prepare children for successful transition into the public, separate and private school systems. Our Kindergarten program prepares children for grade one with the literacy, numeracy and social skills they need to succeed.
If your child is already in a public school Kindergarten, they may be ready for more! Our program enhances the one children may already attend, enabling them to build on skills they learn in public school.
